Emily Sather

BSW, RSW

Hi there! My name is Emily (she/her) and I am a Métis Social Worker. I grew up in a rural community in Saskatchewan where I received my K-12 education. Upon graduation, I moved to Saskatoon where I completed my Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) through the University of Regina in 2022.

With 10 years of experience in the human services field, I've supported diverse populations, including elderly folks, individuals with varying abilities/disabilities, newcomers to Saskatchewan/Canada, people who use substances, and many others. My experiences across non-profit, healthcare, and Indigenous government environments have allowed me the privilege to connect with, support, and learn from individuals of diverse backgrounds and circumstances. These learnings have informed a number of modalities that I integrate into my work, with the ultimate goal of tailoring support to your needs and strengths.

I approach counselling from strengths-based, person-centred, harm-reductionist, and anti-oppressive lenses. I also draw upon knowledge gained through my lived experiences. I am constantly pursuing further education and experiences to build upon my skills and knowledge base to provide you with the best therapeutic services possible.

Above all, I believe that you are the expert of your own story. At times, we can all benefit from some extra support. I strive to provide an open, supportive, and confidential environment that fosters healing and growth. My goal is to hold space for you with authenticity and curiosity guiding our conversations. I look forward to connecting with you!

In my free time, you can find me enjoying the outdoors, trying new recipes, or listening to a podcast/music!
